Welcome to the Speak Your Heart Counseling website. My hope is that you will find the information here to be both useful and encouraging.

          I do counseling and therapy with individuals who present with a variety of concerns.  Because of my multi-disciplinary background, I am able to approach their issues from various perspectives.

          My formal education includes a B.A. in sociology (Trinity University, San Antonio, TX); a Master of  Divinity (San Francisco Theological Seminary, San Anselmo, Berkeley, CA); post-baccalaureate hours equal to majors in psychology and substance abuse counseling (Mt. Hood Community College, Gresham, OR); graduate hours in community counseling (Portland State University, Portland, OR); and post-baccalaureate studies in professional music (Portland Community College, Portland,OR).

          My related work experience includes a seminary internship equal to the position of assistant pastor, clinical pastoral education in 2 hospitals, service as an ordained Presbyterian minister, agency work with substance abusers (individual and group), and counseling/therapy through my private practice.  My combined related work experience comes to over nine years.
